i finally completed a black toile a few days ago. i have documented the process briefly below! overall during construction of the garment most steps turned out quite well! i have also recently included some hand stitching because of the lining. also in the pics below you will see some of the shiny lining i have incorporated in the bra cups to add texture and dimension. Sports mesh has also been added to my design to essentially complement and highlight design features. xxxxx

in the side bar i have posted various things i have to complete before the due date, which is about two weeks away. ahhh two. weeks. away. Currently i am still in the process of toiling (drafting) but hopefully early next week i will be starting my final swimsuit. atm everything is going ok, i think. i feel that i have been slightly panicked because i am still trying to resolve my toile (which i feel always comes down to sewing skills) oh and i have actually changed a few elements and design features, incorporating sheer panels (between the bra cups and on the bodice) which i will show yyyyyoooouuuu very VERY soon. i. promise. and hello to my beautiful new follows. YAY. i was so excited to see some new faces! anyway back to work... xx

capsule collection inspiration...

Some pictures that are inspiring me at the moment as i complete my capsule collection! i'll post some pics soon! i hope these inspire you as much as they did me. Tomorrow i will be spending most of the day in the studios trying to complete and resolve my swimsuit. I also have to catch up on some cad work and figure out how to present my final swimsuit! i have a few ideas already, which i will share soon.i hope your weekend was lovely. xxxx

Resort (Capsule) collection experimentation..

These are some of the pictures from toile review! As you can see my swimsuit is still incomplete and there is a lot of things i have to fix! eg. finishing on cutout, binding, drapery pattern, adding seam lines, alter backline and legholes etc... Today was design studio and most of it was spent fixing patterns, so hopefully towards the end of next week i will have everything resolved + a complete (lined) toile! More pics sooooooon! xxxxxxxxxxxxx

So this is my swimsuit so far. The pattern has taken me so long because of all the panels and angles, but it is finally coming together. I am at that stage where i am adjusting and changing different things as i go. e.g the size of the bra cups were to big so i had to make them smaller, moving seam lines and incorporating sheer fabric in order to emphasize design features. The black foam towards the top of the picture is what i used to make the bra cup structured.

i will post some photos of toile review soon! There is so much i need to improve. Which is a good thing. i think toile review went well, i'm so happy with the constructive feedback and help Dean, Jane and Gillian gave me. i now feel confident and excited about moving towards the final garment.
